Intro to Sport Climbing Camp

Advanced

Ages 11-16

 

Our intro to Sport Climbing camp will teach young climbers the basics of lead climbing on bolts. Campers will learn proper lead climbing techniques such as clipping, lead belaying, and top anchor set up. Each day will consist of hiking, climbing and swimming!

Recommended for climbers that can comfortably top rope 5.9 and up. Personal harness and shoes highly recommended for this camp. ​All technical gear (including helmets) is provided.

Session 1: August 4-8 *Participants on the waiting list will be prioritized first

Session 2: FULL!

Pick up & Drop Off at GMRCC

Monday: 8:30AM-4PM

Tuesday-Friday: 9AM-4PM

   

A $100 deposit is required at the time of sign-up.

The total session cost is $750.

  • All necessary gear including personal gear such as climbing shoes, harness, and helmet.
  • Transportation to and from crags.
  • Daily snacks & water
  • Technical instruction

*It is highly recommended for campers to have their own harness and shoes!*

As this is an Advanced camp learning advanced techniques, there are certain climbing requirements and forms;

  • Participants must be able to complete a 5.7 on top-rope (either indoor or outdoor)
